Centennial Elementary School's mission is "Achievement NOW"!
Our Purpose
Our mission is to create and maintain an environment where academic achievement occurs. In order to make this happen, we need to ensure that students learn each grade level's necessary skills. Our goal is to build the expectation that all Centennial Panthers will be college ready and have the opportunity to select the right college to attend after graduatiing from Harrison's schools.
Centennial is a school that strives to give all students a foundation in the basic skills of learning and problem solving so that they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, now and in the future. We want to partner with parents and community members to foster achievement at Centennial Elementary.
Throughout the school year, Centennial utilizes the school action plan as a means to focus efforts toward improving student achievement. While there is still work to be done to raise student achievement, Centennial's students have made great gains in academic growth according to the Colorado Department of Education Longitudinal Student Growth Model. In 2010, Centennial Elementary School received a Centers of Excellence Award from the Colorado Department of Education to recognize the high rates of academic growth in its students. This award is given out to the schools in the state that work with a student population that is comprised of at least 75% at-risk learners and show high levels of academic growth in the students.
Our Educators
The Centennial staff is a committed group of educators who study effective instructional practices and go above and beyond to meet students' needs. Classroom teachers and administrators meet weekly to align curriculum, review student achievement data, make improvements and give feedback on the progress of students. Centennial's staff participates in staff development aligned to student needs. Our high quality educators are dedicated to making sure that all students will have the opportunity to attend the finest colleges in our nation.
